I've been extraordinarily organised this Christmas. While I had a mild meltdown yesterday when I realised I didn't keep an amazing recipe I found for gingerbread men, the gifts are wrapped and under the tree, cookies are baked and the ham glazed and there is little else to do but a last minute tidy up and sit back with a glass of champagne tonight with my family over our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. Spending quality time with family is perhaps my favourite part of this season. The year of 2013 has been incredible and makes my hungry for what 2014 will bring. This year we had trips to Paris, Bali and Noosa, I stopped biting my nails, held my first workshop, saw a couple of great shows at the new Perth Arena, planted a fruit and vegetable garden, spent quality time with my two girls, rediscovered food for my soul, made time to slow down and capture our lives on film, said goodbye to Walt and Jesse forever, started decorating our home, saw Phoebe turn 18, watched my husband complete a trifecta of half Ironman's, learned how to manage stress while watching this happen, nursed a dislocated rib and 3 colds, photographed so many amazing weddings and engagements and drank lots of champagne while celebrating it all.
There were ups and there were downs but I feel incredibly grateful and thankful and blessed. So, so blessed.
Merry Christmas friends! I hope it is one filled with quality time with your loved ones and that all your dreams come true.
