Without a doubt, on a wedding day someone will approach me and ask “How many photos have you taken today?” and the truth is that I often don’t have an answer other than … “a lot!”
At each wedding I make sure that I have more than enough memory cards so I am never caught short and can simply photograph the day as it unfolds naturally. I don’t push for more things to happen if they aren’t and I won’t stop shooting because I’ve reached a quota for the day.
I don’t know about you but I feel that its my job to give a curated selection of professional images from their wedding day so I try hard to edit those images captured down to the best of the best – and not too repetitive.
All in all, I tell my clients that when they book 2 photographers for their wedding day they can expect 80-100 finished images in their gallery, per hour of coverage. So if they have an 8 hour wedding, they can expect 640-800 images as an overview of their day however it does change from wedding to wedding depending on what is happening on the day.
