While on location for Fiona and Colin’s engagement session recently, we wandered right past the spot where they became engaged. Herdsman Lake had become ‘their place’. A place with privacy and quiet for them to unwind, have their favourite takeaway and spend time with one another. As Colin often travels for work their time together is precious but has said the more he travels, the more he is happier to come home, to Fiona.

One night as they took a short walk after having dinner on the banks of the lake, Colin held Fiona close to keep her warm from the cool evening air and quietly asked her to marry him. Fiona stood in front of him dumb founded with tears welling in her eyes and . She wasn’t sure if he was being silly so he repeated his question and she finally declared “Yes!” before seeing he was holding an engagement ring in front of her, waiting to be placed on her finger.

I could not be more thrilled to be photographing their wedding this March at a private family property in the country. It will be a day of celebration with their nearest and dearest and I can’t wait to spend more time with them.
