Spending the day with Nikki, Simon and their families at their modern wedding at the Old Brewery in Perth was like spending time with old friends. In spite of a few hiccups earlier in the day, there was a feeling that while this was a very special day, it was something very normal.
Perhaps it was because they had been planning for long before they even got engaged. Nikki is a self-confessed wedding junkie and actually found me back in 2010 when she started to daydream their amazing wedding, without having yet been proposed to.
Fortunately for Nikki, Simon eventually did propose and those dreams started to become reality when they would become husband and wife.
In early April, they finally tied the knot and I started the morning at the Mullaloo Beach Hotel with Simon and his groomsmen for some casual portraits before going next door where Nikki was getting ready.
As they started planning their wedding Nikki and Simon got the amazing news that they were expecting their first child. Nikki would be about 6 months pregnant on their wedding day so Nikki’s original wedding dress she chose was put on the back burner and she decided to go all out with an amazing floral print gown from Wendy Makin Couture.
One thing that Nikki knew years before Simon proposed was that she’d walk down the aisle in Manolo Blahniks.
Following the ceremony we wandered the grounds for some relaxed portraits and hid from the wind as much as we could.
The beautiful floral designs were by the amazing Bec from Fox and Rabbit.
