Jess and Gavin became husband and wife at their wedding at Millbrook Winery after a 5 year courtship. Just last year as they were holidaying in Jimbaran Bay, Jess was getting a little impatient and as her father recounted, she wanted to know what she needed to do to become more ‘engaging’.

It was a no brainer for her and after finally finishing her degree that had taken so much time she was ready to focus on them and their relationship. Jess was talking about weddings with Gavin, perhaps for the 152nd time and then said that one day she would be talking to him about her wanting to get married and knowing her luck he would probably have the ring in his pocket. About an hour after this conversation while over dinner, Gavin knelt down on one knee and asked Jess to be his wife.

I love working with such talented creatives and was so pleased when I discovered that Emma at Milla Makeup would be making up Jess for her big day. Emma’s work is always flawless and so long lasting – perfect for a bride.

The beautiful blooms were from Flower Nation featuring peonies, succulents and natives. So romantic and a nod to the rural location of their wedding and were fastened with a locket holding the photos of Jess’s two grandfathers who had recently passed away.

Jess’s gorgeous gown was from Jennifer Naglan at Zanzis and fit her personality like a glove. Classic with a little bit of a flourish.

I had been looking forward to working at Millbrook Winery, having heard what a lovely venue it was and I wasn’t disappointed.

Following the ceremony and family photos we wandered the grounds for some beautiful, relaxed portraits of the newlyweds.

The beautiful cake was by The Cake Studio and the reception was overflowing with soft pink flowers and greenery.
