Andrew and Bhavia first said “I do” in a traditional Indian ceremony and then in a colourful winery wedding at Poachers Ridge Denmark which is owned by Andrew’s parents winery. If you asked any of their wedding guests to describe Andrew in one adjective, it would be persistent. Despite Bhavia’s best intentions to keep Andrew at arms length and “just be friends”, he knew better. He knew that Bhavia was someone special.

After meeting at a mutual friends gathering, their love of roast pumpkin became their topic of conversation and Andrew managed to obtain Bhavia’s phone number from their friend to ask her out. After not one but two failed attempts to get together, Andrew being the intelligent man he is, finally ensnared Bhavia with the lure of chocolate (her achilles heel so to speak) to finally meet him on a date.

I am blessed and so delighted to have been able to witness then say their vows not once, but twice. It was a day that was a gift and with the combination of their closest friends and beautiful weather, it was a day I am sure they won’t forget anytime soon.

Andrew’s brother Marcus at Studio Papa is one clever cookie. He designed all of their branding and papergoods and created their beautiful letterpress stationery suite with the help of Mitchell & Dent.

With a story almost as detailed as how Andrew finally got Bhavia to go on a date with him, was Bhavia’s beautiful engagement ring. It was stunning and perfectly set against their wedding rings.

Bhavia’s shoes were from Witchery and her light and airy gown from Dion for Brides.

The flowers. Oh em gee – the flowers! This is where a bouquet becomes more than a handful of flowers and becomes a symbol. With hot pink roses and purple and white orchids, Bhavia’s bouquet from Lush Floral Designs in Albany was a nod to her Indian heritage and just beautiful.

Bhavia’s bridesmaids wore gowns by Ae’lkemi which were a perfect hue of purple found in the flowers and decor.

The ceremony was held in a grove of gum trees opposite Andrew’s parents home at their winery Poachers Ridge.

After the ceremony we wandered the property for some photographs in the beautiful light.

Near the cafe at Poachers Ridge, a tent was set for the reception. The styling and design was by Eclectic Events and was a colourful feast for the eyes.
