As I photographed Vicki and Luke’s wedding at Cable Beach Club Broome, Vicki smiled and pointed to the spot where Luke had proposed to her almost 18 months before. They were holidaying in Broome at the time with their parents and adorable daughter and Luke knowing how much Vicki loved Cable Beach chose perhaps the most perfect place in the world to ask her to be his wife.
I’ve come to find that there are often two kinds of brides, one who walks down the aisle fighting tears and another that can’t stop laughing. Vicki was definitely one with the giggles – as predicted by her friends. While we waited for their guests to be seated and the music begin, the cue could not come soon enough for Vicki as she walked on air down the aisle with such happiness there was nothing in this world that would bring her down to earth.
Congratulations Vicki and Luke! Being able to be in Broome to photograph your wedding was truly a moment I will never forget and thank you so much for welcoming me with such open hearts and open arms into your lives! xx
Vicki became the queen of Etsy.com while planning their wedding and sourced so many unique and special pieces. It was a great way to impart some of her and Luke’s personality into the wedding.
Nearly every wedding I am bowled over by the bridesmaids who will do anything and everything to ensure their best friends day is perfect. These three girls, Sam, Nicole and Julia almost redefined the role and looked incredible in their Story by Tang gowns – one of Vicki’s favourite designers.
The lovely bouquets were by Broome Florist. I just loved the baby’s breath. Perfectly understated for an intimate beach side wedding.
The afternoon ceremony was held at the Lily Pond Gardens within the resort and was a perfect location.
We wandered around the Cable Beach Club Resort grounds for a little and found little pockets of the most beautiful light. The sunlight in the Kimberley is entirely different the light in Perth and just beautiful.
We finished off the portraits on Cable Beach, just meters away from where Luke asked Vicki to marry him almost 18 months before.
A cocktail reception was arranged on the amphitheater overlooking the beach. Vicki mentioned to me that this is the first cocktail reception at Cable Beach Club in about 4 years and I am so pleased that her vision came to life.
I have to mention Notch 8 Entertainment who was DJ’ing the event. It was a pretty awesome surprise as the owner of Notch 8 is an old friend from my home town – thanks Thomas!
