I really am a technical kind of girl. I find it pretty hard to remember a time before I finally jumped on the Apple train for that matter. I love the luxury of having the world at my fingertips for music or movies or any of my many apps on my phone and Foxtel is the best where I can catch up on my reality TV fix while the rest of the house is sleeping. I was able to prove to my brother that Jared Leto was not Jay Leno’s son recently using my phone. We’ll often have random moments of music trivia but proving him wrong on that particular statement was a rather satisfying experience.
Not surprisingly my work and the way I communicate is so dependent on technology too. My clients know that I am more of an email gal than a telephone gal and will definitely respond faster to an email than a phone message. All image proofing is done privately online along with album approvals too and of course my website storefront and blog is online too. Sometimes all the technology can start to make me think I’m stuck in The Net and I begin to have Bridget Jones thoughts of being eaten by Alsatians before anyone would notice.
Over 12 months ago I implemented the holy grail of online work management for photographers with ShootQ and haven’t looked back. My clients are able to view proposals, confirm their collections, sign their contracts and monitor the status of their orders all online, 24/7. The feedback from my clients has been wonderful and I know they’re busy people so having the online convenience day or night is invaluable for them too.
Its an incredible tool that has allowed me to free up my time to take my clients out for a coffee and focus on their needs more than paperwork, spend time with my family and dogs or (a very new concept for me) spending time investing in me. The team at ShootQ have been awesome with their continual updates and keeping on top of what we need as photographers too. I especially love their new app for the iPhone which means I can access my clients files anywhere, anytime.
Its wonderful to know I can spend time doing the things I really want to instead of being overwhelmed with paperwork. I am a firm believer in outsourcing and I now have time to focus on some specific future projects for my clients benefit which I am excited about. So if we cross paths in the future, lets go out for tea and cake sometime and enjoy the little things in life. Like talking about how much time and money the Kardashian’s probably spend on their hair and makeup while ShootQ does all the hard work for me.

Here is a little sneak peek of the back office which is so clean and uncluttered – just the way I like it. No, Angelina Jolie did not contact me to shoot her wedding, although I am dying for them to tie the know now that Prop 8 has been overturned. A girl can dream
